They are turning it on state by state in USA and in parts of Europe as well. Users will have to install a firmware patch and Sony are going to give a few games away as a way of saying sorry  |

I updated my firmware earlier. Looking forward to getting some free stuff though.
I only want the psn back on so that the NASCAR game can be patched, and to play Googolol at Rainbow 6 Vegas

I doubt they will be giving away games worth more than £15 |

Probably stuff that was produced by Sony, but that has a massive amount of downloadable content with a good history of psn users buying it. Not that I am cynical...
The firmware updated fine for me, but didn't force my to change my password. I'm going to have a look in to it later.

Yeah, it's on its way back , won't have full psn right away though. Should be useable by 4pm apparently.

This LA Noir game is already on torrent for XBox,so I assuming it will be released this week in the shops?

Sony are giving PSN users the choice of two games from the following list
Infamous
Wipeout HD
Ratchet and Clank : Quest for Booty
Little Big Planet
Dead Nation
If you haven't played or own Infamous, I suggest you get that, it's really really good, and pick the remaining one out of what appeals most. LBP is pretty cool and there are literally millions of levels to play.

I have got Little Big planet and the kids have had Ratchet Clank.
I will deffo get Infamous on your recomendation. What is Wipeout and Dead Nation like?

Not sure. You can find reviews of them easy enough on IGN or somewhere similar. Dead Nation is a PSN store game , top down zombie killing fare. Wipeout is Wipeout.
