Some people in work have those mugs. They are known as "kettle hogging cunts".

lost in the post for someone i bet Yes, I took this 69p mug from a young child who was waiting by the front door for me this morning. I always find a cup of tea (tea bag took from old lady waiting for her Earl Gray) tastes better from a stolen mug I am the model postman TDR, I was bottom of the thieving list for January

here, moorsey, see when i get parcels that have to be signed for, my postman just signs for them and gives them to one of my neighbours to give to me.
how much of a sackable offence is that ?
oh, i have no problem with him doing it like, it saves a complete pain in the arse journey to the depot to pick shit up.

Henke, that is what I do. If you know your customers, just use a bit of common sense as I know who on my beat is working so i knock on the apartment next door and they take it. i even sign for the letters and write on it SIGNED BY POSTIE and throw it through. It saves a journey for my loving customers p.s, just read your post again asking if it was a sackable offence - No, it's not, its a WARNING offence if something actually doesn't get there ( i.e - someone reports a package missing and the postman is down as signing for it)
