Was watching the Hillsborough thing today, and the MP speaker suggested that he was going to give a recommendation to the Queen that Kenny gets knighted.

The look on Kennys face was an amazing sight, he must know how much he's adored in footballing terms, but off the field as well, his work with Marina and the marina Dalglish appeal, yet he was genuinely shocked that this was even being suggested.

What a humble amazing man.

Surely even the blues on the forum wouldn't begrudge the king a knighthood.

The knighthood thing seems to be upsetting a lot of people re: accepting some handout from the institution that has denied justice regarding hillsborough etc.

I personally think kenny is the most qualified to make a decision on it and would respect whatever he chose to do, but some people on the Internet are getting most smelty about it. Also the timing, they could have announced that any time, why on the anniversary of hillsborough.

I agree with the timing part. I have a feeling that our energies should be trying to get Bob Paisley knighted rather than Kenny (who will probably get one soon anyway).
